A good time to admire plums

    The plum blossom is beginning to blossom earlier in this year. It's a good time to admire the plum blossom now.

    Early years, the winter jasmine is " Primula malacoide " in everybody's mind. And at the past two years, the peach blossom became the new " evidence " that " spring is coming ". But this year,  the first time to blossom is the plum blossom.
     
    In history , there have seldom planted the plum blossom in Gui Lin.

    After the Beginning of spring , another spring has came. In these two days, I look for the plum blossom in every park in the Guilin city with a staff working in the garden department of the Guilin city. During this time,I find that citizens continually took pictures with the beautiful plum blossom, but they treated the plum blossom as the peach blossom by mistake all the time. As to this, the staff says, "The plum blossom is a rare thing for Guilin citizen."
     
    According to the records, the plum blossom was planted very early in GuiLin, but the scale is too small. In Qing Dynasty, the Yanshan Garden has brought in the green calyx plum which was called as one of " the four treasure of Yanshan " at that time. To the last sixth century, we can find the plum blossom rarely only in the Nanxi Park and the Xishan Park. Later, the plum blossom disappeared slowly. 
     
    Nowadays, there are so many place to admire the plum blossom.
     
    The plum blossom afraid of hot except cold, so it isn't suit for planted in Guilin very much. But with the progress of the plant technology, since 2000, Guilin has brought in and planted the plum blossom successively. Through fostering carenessness for many years, there has formed many good places to admire the plum blossom. 
     
    In 1999, the plum blossom was planted in the Yushan Park so that the park is added much beauty by the plum blossom nowadays. The Mulong Lake scenic spot which in the two rivers and four lake scenic spots has brought in a lot kinds of the plum blossoms, such as the white plum, the red plum,etc. from Kunming too. The examples that the plum blossom adds beauty  and afforests for the parks are a bunch of uncountable.

    The Guilin Garden Arboretum is the largest place to admire the plum blossom at present. According to the introduction, the plum blossom garden lies in the south of the arboretum, which covers about 2200 square meters. There are more than 30 kinds of the plums and more than 100 plums.
      
    It is the good time to admire the plum blossom. A gardening expert says that the florescence of the plum blossom is not long--a single one is about 7 to 10 days, but the plums living togerther are about 25 days. The plum blossom in Yushan Park , Xishan Park and Mulong Park has blossoming around the New Year's Eve in the mouse year. Through two weeks "fermenting", the plums in three parks is blossoming prosperously. So  it's the best time to admire plums. 
     
    However, the most worth expecting place to admire the plum blossom is the arbretum. The expert says that according to the time of bringing in , the breeds and the way of planting are differently, the blossoming time of  the plum blossoms and the florescence are different in every park or scene. In the arboretum, the plums are planted by grafting way, in addition, the planting time is shorter, so the plums in the arboretum blossom a little later than other places. However, because of the application of the grafting technology, everybody can admire the wonder sights that several kinds of plum blossoms on a tree in the arboretum.
